My Woodwork Bench

My Woodworking Bench

I started with some crate timber that was due to be discarded.

Reclaimed timber from a packing crate, mostly 4x3 and 4x4" pieces.

It's great to have friends. My good mate Dave offered his services to help me mill all the timber down ready for the build. Wouldn't have been able to do it without him.

Once the dust settles we were left with some nice pieces timber.

The start of cool joints. No! not those kind.

Thanks to a very nice customer (My Lordship) who gave me a solid slab of Australian Mahogany. This wood is so dense it feels like a piece of steel. It is certainly a treasured piece of lumber and will form the center piece of my bench.
Now cut to length and ready to go.

Progress has been slow, but I wanted to get it right.

The work edges of the bench have been made from American Ash with a stripe cut from the Australian Mahogany slab just to make a link between the 2 pieces.

The almost finished product. I've added doors to underside of the bench since taking this photo.
